Glasshouse Grove

Glasshouse Grove

Week 05

By Kyle (design & code) · Released

A cozy terrarium puzzle across one hundred painted levels. Pick moss, mushrooms, frogs, and twenty-two species in all from the tray, then plant each one where its light, moisture, and neighbors suit it. Happy residents visibly grow, and a finished jar blooms. There are no timers, and the move budget is kind.

How to play

  • Tap a resident, then tap a soil pocket to plant it.
  • Every resident needs the right light, moisture, and neighbors.
  • Watch it grow when it is happy. Settle everyone to finish the jar.
  • Moves are limited but generous. Rearrange freely and take your time.

Desktop: Click a tray tag or a planted resident to pick it up, then click a pocket to plant it. Arrow keys move the cursor, Up and Down pick from the tray, Enter plants, Escape pauses. · Mobile: Tap a tray tag, then tap a glowing pocket to plant it. Tap a planted resident to move it or swap with a neighbor. The round brass button pauses.

Why we built this

We generate every level backwards from a finished terrarium, so each puzzle is solvable before it ships. The hint system once ignored its own solver's caution and circled a level until the moves ran out. Teaching it to play the way the proof plays fixed the only game bug our test rig ever caught.
